Contemporary Riga

Another beautiful capture. Lovely weather there, not like the snow and mush, sand and dirt that covers our streets at the moment. If you don't mind me asking, what is that building in the foreground? I see a steeple but not sure if it belongs to a building in behind. I see the word on the flags and roof over parking area...does it mean 'station' ??

The building in the foreground, just behind green lawn, is a petrol station/convenience store. The three section (silver/white/silver) building is either apartments or offices. I'm not sure if the steeple is part of this complex or sits atop another building further behind. My guess is that it is part of a church that further behind because you can see a shorter secondary steeple with a cross atop it behind the white building. I'm not sure what the diagonal object is atop the white building. I was on a sightseeing boat in the river and didn't have a chance to subsequently walk through the area. Cheers, GJ
