My wife and I are just getting a home studio started and we are

trying new things (to us) just want an opinion.

Nice study! I would cut the mirror at the same level left and right, and distort the picture slightly so that the bottom part would be completely horizontal.

To give it more tension, I would have the eyes closed in the reflexion (taking two pictures one after the other and combining them... but that's only a personal interpretation.

"Alice in the looking glass" maybe. This is an exceptional image, I love the idea and how you have carried it out, I like the eyes open, the subject has beautiful eyes. - Comments, well for me, I'd get rid of the top quarter of the picture, the back ground cloth doesn't add to the picture. Maybe some old curio's suitably out of focus, in the bg would have helped. The mirror isn't quiet level. But really that is all nit picking, it rates highly with me, well done.

This is really different. I like it alot. I would like to see less dead space at top, but other than that it is quite lovely. I am just starting a studio work as well so I know how difficult it can be to come up with new ideas. Excellent.

Lovely image and interesting idea. My only small critique is that I think some of the creases in the background drape are a bit distracting, particularly when viewed at max size.

wow!!! one of the greatest photos i ever saw. probably it would be the best, if framed properly.

i give it no less than 6.8/7

i just really don't go for the selective decoloration. i feel the effect is so strong and obvious that it detracts from a very well composed photograph.

I love the idea, and I love the portrait itself, but one bothering thought comes to my mind.

I dont like the way it is cropped from the bottom. If you just tried to crop a little bit more from the bottom you wouldnt see the edge of the mirror, which unfortunately shows distortion of the lens. I am not a pro, so I may be wrong. Just consider it please.

Still a great picture, and if it was mine I would probably not criticize a thing.

Best regards and congratulations

Excellent idea. It is very eye-catching at first glance, which is especially important for a forum like this.

This is a nice twist. I think most would have put the girl in color and the reflection in B&W. I think I like your way better.

Shawn, throw away your digital zoom lense and autofocus camera, and shoot medium format. This portrait is a 10 on composition, creativity and beauty of the subject, but it simply is not sharp enough. While the resolution of the mirror color image can be soft as a reflection, at least the black and white (in my opinion) ought to be tack sharp. Love this work. Wish it were sharper. Regards.
