I'm amazed by the colors and clarity, but almost as much by the fact you hand held the 500mm at 1/320 second!   I drink way too much Kona Coffee to do that.

Thanks Frank!

Thanks Ljbisa!

Thanks Dominick! I've gone below 1/200 now and then with less keeper rate.  At 1/320 I think my keeper rate for this one is 8/10+ and since I had at least 2 gig of this fellow (at 10fps .. you know it can get fill up fast), hence, I have plenty shot of him with many duplication.

Btw, the real trick (and don't tell anybody Dom) is to stop drinking the coffee and start drinking the 'tokillya' (tequilla ... the 'll' in Espanol is pronounced as a 'y' in case you don't already know) and that will make your hand more steady. That's what I drink!

It seems Great Blues are difficult to photograph because of their dark coloration.  Your shot stands out because of the excellent red background.  The rings in the water and reflection of blue sky in that area help balance the photo nicely.  It's one of the best Great Blue photos I've seen.  Nice work.
