I think its a great photo.  The only thing I would have suggested is to have had her on the right side of the frame but it may work with the background.  I'm not sure. K.C.

Great contrasts of old and young, colourful and dark, and sharp and soft, it all makes for a delightful visually arresting image! Very wel done!

Right space don't bother me to much because main subject is so strong,contrast with dark bg,also age contrast,lead the view in this light point,compliments and max.

Super photo with amazing clarity.Your crop to capture the full extent of the penetrating sun's footprint stretches a tad to the right but does not deter from this excellent image which is a true rendition of the Toraja traditionnal attire worn at special occasions like this burial ceremony.Wish my photos of Sulawesi were like yours..Bravo!

Regarding the "Rule of space", I broke it to give significance to the background. Even though there is no "actual" active space at child's left I thought the background would worth it.
I try to keep in mind the rules of composition but at the same time I try not to be restricted by them. Sometimes rules are meant to be broken..:)

Anabela, This is a nice moment, with the line of darkly clad legs facing away from the child. The light on the child and her surrounding area is really wonderful. The detail on her face and and clothing also great.

She is so very cute and will certainly grow up to be a beautiful woman! 

Great capture, and you've done well to blur out the background, with full emphasis on the girl.
