Nice one...perfect placement in the frame, good focus, good exposure.  I am left with jaw open at your ability to get these shots.  Especially 10 shots in a row without losing focus.  I am traveling to Florida in two weeks; hoping to get something "almost" as good as these.  Thanks!  Wondering if you might share a narrative on when and where, and how to set up for these shots?

Thanks!

Thanks Dennis!

Thanks Harry!

Dennis, there's not much to tell, lol! the local pond gets stock every two weeks and the Osprey hang out (as well as the birders) to catch something - fish for the bird and fish + bird for the  birders.  They circle around, dive in the water and then takes off, I use  multiple points focus when they are in the air (no bad stuff in the background) when I can and use one single focus point when they are in the water taking off. Try to hold steady and track with that single point focus as the bird takes off as much as I can. In generally, you want the sun behind you and the bird will takes off into the wind so you want to observe both the light and wind or you will end up with some dube as 'buttshots'. After taking off the bird generally circle around back as it try to build altitude and that's another few opportunity to shoot bird and fish in the air. Also they tend to shake off the water at some points as well and those are interesting shots to catch. Good luck Dennis!

I heard the Osprey in Florida fly above water and grab the fish instead of diving in like these Osprey that we got in California. Don't know if that's true or not.
