A color version of an earlier posted B&W image. It took me some time to

get this image to where I liked it. The light was soft and warm that

morning, and I wanted that feeling in this image. In many ways I like this

version the best because the playground elements stand out more in color,

and I wanted the emphasis on the contrast between the industrial

background and the idea of a kids playground flaking this background. Let

me know what you think bout the processing on this image. I used Color

Efex Pro 4 and Lightroom 3.

I've seen both versions, and I really like the color simply because the playground seems to stand out more as a playground.  The reds and blues were pretty much the same shade of gray and were therefore not very distinct in the B&W version.  This is a nice contrast, and you picked a good time of day for this shot.

Thanks Stephen.  I agree that this is the stronger of the two images, and that colour allows separation between the industrial area and the playground.  Take care my friend!

I think the processing is spot on! And yes I would concur with the former observations the bright colours of the playground are a starkly contrasting element to the forebodiing grey industrial backdrop. A very well conceived and executed image.

Thanks Alf.  I had other shots very similar to this one where the hull of the boat was partly lit up, but chose this one because I wanted the focus to be on the playground, and not the boat in the background.  Thanks for taking the time to comment, Alf.  I really appreciate it.

I like the colour version more than the B & W as it allows real seperation between the two areas. An excellent composition with spot on exposure. Well seen and executed. Best wishes William

Thanks William and Ben.  I am quite pleased with this image, and think I am going to look into industrial sites more in the future.  I see so many beautiful landscapes (nature) on this site as well as in my photo club, and want to do something different.  The only problem is I have to travel a bit to get to areas like this, but in the long run I think it will be worth it for me.  Take care, and all the best to the two of you.

Thanks Wanghan!  It was one of those mornings where ZI had to shoot an urban landscape, and this one fit the bill in terms of lighting, and contrasting subject matter.  Take care.
