Many thanks on your comment.

Well, high pass filter was already used since that is the way I sharpen my photos setting the blending change to Soft. Overlay filter I found to harsh.

Also, I wanted photo to be in, a sort of, High Key.

Best regards...

Nebojsa,

The lighting looks good and it is certainly nice and sharp. Your subjects have very good eye contact with each other.

The main thing you could do is to simplify the image. There is way too much going on that draws the viewer's attention away from your two subjects.

Move in closer. There is a bunch of extraneous stuff around them. The pillows on the bottom. The plant. Whatever is behind the dog's muzzle and the "pillow" behind her right hand.

You don't want the corner line from the meeting walls to intersect with her head.

The plaid shirt is too busy. She needs to wear something plain that doesn't draw the viewer.

Nice shot,

Mark

Many thanks on your opinion and a comment.

Your analizing of the image is OK and it all stands. Point is that the photography is also and catching precious moments which you can't set up and this photo is exactly this. Also, in my opinion, point of interest is very clear (eye contact) and I didn't found  other things so distracting (and I didn't want to clone them out) but, as you say, picture could be much better.

Thanks again and all the best.

I agree, for the contest it is good, that the image includes the sense of the place . Definitely home.  People learn "rules"of composition and want to apply it strictly on every image without looking at the one most important thing in phtography - vision. What do you want to let us see, what do you want to tell us. You showed us home. Well done ! Cheers Jana
