jimvanson 0 Posted May 26, 2003 This is a cropped version of the same photo I posted this morning. That uncropped 3/4 length shot didn't convey who Arnie is--which is somewhat of a contradiction as despite the stoic look, Arnie has a very easy smile. Link to comment
charodiez 0 Posted May 29, 2003 I have two different feelings on seeing this portrait. I don´t know if I like it or not. The sepia tones definetevely are great for this vintage looking, but he is so centered, that maybe that´s the reason... I would have shown some more of his shoulder&body. I couldn´t see the previous post... Link to comment
artofheadshots 0 Posted May 30, 2003 Hi Jim I tend to agree with Charo Diaz. I think your image would be much stronger if it wasn't centered. Cheers,Ringo Link to comment
bart_van_herk 0 Posted May 30, 2003 Reminiscent of the famous portraits of old chiefs, undoubtedly this was intended. But they would have used colour if it had existed. So would I here. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 12, 2003 Ugh Jim! Exceptionnal eyes and look. I just miss some wrinkles. I also like square format for portrait, quite suitable for this man. Link to comment
jody 0 Posted June 14, 2003 this would make a gorgeous commercial print/ post card. the sepia is a beautiful touch and I actually like the grainy- even with so much texture going on in the image itself Link to comment
gemccaw 1 Posted June 29, 2003 I've always been fascinated by this spooky facepainting. Solid piece of portraiture. Are you a fan of Edward S. Curtis? Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted September 12, 2003 I also love this series, and this is one of my favorite in it. His expression is wonderful, and the traditional costume/headdress is fabulous. Link to comment
