timzeipekis 5 Posted February 13, 2012 Spent a couple hours walking around the gardens. Found myself drawn tothis Winter micro-landscape. Had to lay in the snow a bit for thisone. Low and close is a good way to think in photography. Link to comment

Christal1664882414 0 Posted February 13, 2012 Well, I think your efforts were well-rewarded. I like it! The sapling in the front is no doubt the same as the large tree behind it, and this image kind of speaks to me about the cycle of things. Good job! If I remember correctly, you're from Ohio? I'm in Indiana and I'm kind of missing the snow this winter.....I'd like a little, just not too much! :-) Link to comment
alfbailey 1 Posted February 14, 2012 The low perspective has really paid in terms of the composition. The light catching the snow crystals in the foreground look great and interspersed with the shadows they intensify the feeling of being right there!Sincere Compliments TimBest RegardsAlf Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted February 14, 2012 Christal, I like your "cycle of things" perspective. I really wanted to focus on this little piece of ground amongst the grand scheme of things. I think I've gotten away from the smaller picture lately with my photography and I would really like to get back to more intimate landscapes.Actually, I'm from Michigan, but you're pretty close. I'm just about 13 miles north of the Ohio border. I too am missing the snow, although we got a couple of fresh inches last night so Hopefully I can get out and take advantage. Alf, I really appreciate your thoughts on this shot. I've always been drawn to shadows. Perhaps that's what caught my attention first.I was considering toning down the bluish cast of the shadows a bit, but thought they contrasted nicely with the orange needles on the ground. Thank you both for taking the time! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 15, 2012 Very nice point of camera, (I hope you are dry now...)the light/shadow dispersion Is soft and beautiful. I find your observation of this point very rewarding , It tells the whole story with just some details.! Link to comment
