Shutter speed:  1/13th second, f stop 3.5 on a Metro coach bucking and twisting at full speed between only two Metro stops.  ISO 2500, absolute tops for the subject camera.

seems cold inside the carriage... their camaraderie is touching, though it could be alcohol induced... i like that you haven't de-noised this sad image but the signage pasted on the glass pisses me off, blocking my view... i like the composition with the other bystander (why can't we have a word such as bysitter?)... can't help but wonder about their shoes - pumps? an untied lace? etc.

The carriages are basically unheated but underground where it's somewhat insulated by the earth; it was near minus 17 ~  minus 22 Celsius (around 0 and below 0 F.) outside and the man, right, unbuttoned his jacket it was so warm inside the Metro tunnel by comparison (or he was just too drunk.).

It was so cold, I wore a winter parka and three or four shirts plus a sweater and pajamas for long johns just to keep from freezing and then the blast on my face just about killed me, so off I went to America after this.

I took a number of photos, but all were blurry; I only had one Metro stop, perhaps two, to capture these guys before they got off, and took a number of shots - 'Hail Mary's' they call such shots in football parlance, because of my inability to boost the ISO above 2500 where it would not have looked much good anyway.

On another line, there are some new coaches with three stops better light on a few trains; this was not one of them,  alas, or this would have been possibly a standout (or one of the others.

Technical difficulties kept this from attaining the full potential; a D7000 at the time and faster glass available on my camera that second would have helped.  It doesn't matter what's owned, but what's in your hand at the time.

There was just too much movement at 1/13th of a second (the normal wide open shutter speed for Metros at f 3.5) to catch the action with the train's vibrations, lurching, speed variations, etc, and especially the guy, right, moving a lot.

Ah, well, I've taken some great photos, and this is a 'might have been'.

I had great hopes.

I presssed hard against the sea back for the maximum coverage for my 18 mm widest angle here, too, but alas, no shoelaces -- pumps are for women?

Or am I mistaken?

Best to you, Rajat, and thanks.
