It was a day I had been waiting for a long time, maybe the first time in

the 5 years that I have been taking photo's, that we had fog for more

than a couple of hours. This was one of the last shots I took as I turned

for home, the mist behind the trees thickening rapidly. I noticed this

little chap dwarfed by an enormous tree. I took the shot at the maximum

focal length of 300 mm and was pleasantly surprised at the level of

detail. Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated. Thank

You.

Alf... Ok, how did you get this guy to pose like this?! Obviously his feet are tied down! ;-). Seriously, this is superbly done and the pose is perfect... Mike

Nature contraast. The big tree is probably quite old in contrast to the fawn that is excellently posed. Beautiful capture and a vey appealing landscape.

Regards, Alf.

Good Morning Alf. I really like the composition of this image with the deer looking back into the image and the trees framing the subject. Not only that the colors are very nice. Take care my friend.

Hi Alf

Yet another "wow" image from you, this one epitomises nature at its best,  well worth the 5 year wait!  Perfect composition and the colours are fantastic!  Perfect title, perfect image, you never fail to deliver Alf!   An absolute visual delight.  I second what Sarah said....get it into print, along with all your other outstanding images!!   Very well done Alf!

A gorgeous shot Alf! The soft lighting, and forest mood, compliments of the fog, provide a superb backdrop for this co-operative little fellow! Excellent work guy!

All the best,
Neil

Alf, The fog in the background adds a nice bit of magic to an already wonderful scene. The play of light over the branches also is nicely done. The detail throughout, particularly on the fawn is perfect. The bit of brush at the bottom seems more saturated than the rest, and becomes more noticeable when viewed larger. It might be the way the light is hitting it? I don't know that it's bothersome, just something I noticed

The contrasts of this scene make it so beautiful to the eye. Then there is this cute looking deer to add itself to the already enriched view..my compliments mate...you win again:-)))

sharp detail of that little dear's face against the misty forest is the shot, Sir Alf, the eyes of the uk's beauty ;-} this, a mighty wonderful picture... well done ;-} dp

Outstanding. The tones, sharpness, and composition are great.

With the f11 you got enough dof, but having this result with 1/30s for a picture of animal which usually does not stand still, is amazing.

Well Done,

Ben

Not much to add to this, Alf.. I can really understand  that you must have been pleased to get this one :-) A lovely & sweet capture. Different crops may come to mind ( a tad more 'stage' -- foreground perhaps, and possibly a cut-off on that big tree trunk..?) However, I quite like the wider perspective of the misty beyond, seen through the trees, as well..  best, Marjolein
