In the old part of the city of Jaffa there are some different churches. This one is called St. Michael. I photographed while the ceremony took place,

Thanks for viewing.

Pnina, both of these are nicely done, along with the several you posted in the no-words forum over the last few days. With the dress of the live figures and the dress of the two painted figures behind being very nearly the same, it show's how the church hasn't changed that much since the middle ages. I like the movement of the incense burner that the one man is using.

Very nicely done, Pnina. You've captured the richness and sense of tradition of this rite. Your practice as a visual chronicler of the dance really serves you well here, shooting under difficult lighting conditions.

Meir, Bill. Linda and Rajat thanks for your impression and  feedback!

Tony, what an eye you have. I did no see  how similar the dresses  on the wall are  and the real of nowadays untill you have mentioned it ...Thanks, and you are right about the middle ages traditions...;-))

Jack, thanks  as well, and you are right , as photographing the dance shows in the stage lights, was a very good opportunity to learn to work in dim lights.

I like how well you use all available light without losing crisp colors. It also interesting that you have F/number very small that give star effect over the candles. Overall excellent presentation.

very good, Pnina. you gave the feeling of a ceremony. persons are very well placed, and we can see their faces (i dont know the reason, but this is not so usual. normally we see many shoulders and few faces). history seems to survey what's happening. the darkness of the photo adds something to the atmosphere without to hide expressions. bravo!

Rich colors.  I like how the overall blue cast nudges this into something different than your everyday capture.  It imposes a sense of splendor and reflection.
