I'd appreciate any comments on the aesthetics and style of this

photo. i was playing with depth of field and took this one of a

piece of music I'd been playing.

Excellent use of DOF, really draws the eye into the subject matter (i.e. music). This is a classic example of a stock shot fot editorial illustration purposes.

The first photograph I see with grades 1/1 and 10/10. Anyway, it is another interesting shot with a nice idea.

Love this type of shot. What makes it less good than other shots like it probably is the lens. I assume it was wide open for this and that lens just isn't very good wide open, a sharper lens would have made the in focus part stand out much more. But then again, we usualy have to work with what we got. The long focal length does compress the image quite good.

This is terrific. The numbers people have no idea what they are looking at. You have selected the subject by making the foreground and background out of focus. I MUST learn to do this. I read about it and look at examples of it. The most effective use of this technique I find from looking at examples is isolating one person in a crowd. That rocks! Thanks for showing us this one of yours.

I'd kill to be able to do this!!
