carl smith 0 Posted July 29, 2001 I'd appreciate any comments on the aesthetics and style of this photo. i was playing with depth of field and took this one of a piece of music I'd been playing. Link to comment
nejattalas 0 Posted August 8, 2001 Risky selection of focus as I like it! Nice work done but maybe could be framed better...Keep these up! Link to comment
cedarbough 0 Posted November 29, 2001 Funnily enough, this totally set up shot may be my favorite photo I've seen of yours. Link to comment
mark_crame1 0 Posted March 13, 2002 Excellent use of DOF, really draws the eye into the subject matter (i.e. music). This is a classic example of a stock shot fot editorial illustration purposes. Link to comment
ezzz 0 Posted April 2, 2002 The first photograph I see with grades 1/1 and 10/10. Anyway, it is another interesting shot with a nice idea. Link to comment
stevemontanino 0 Posted January 6, 2003 dig it man. music rules. You play jazz? I see the jazz notation. Link to comment
basscheffers 0 Posted April 12, 2003 Love this type of shot. What makes it less good than other shots like it probably is the lens. I assume it was wide open for this and that lens just isn't very good wide open, a sharper lens would have made the in focus part stand out much more. But then again, we usualy have to work with what we got. The long focal length does compress the image quite good. Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted July 1, 2003 This is terrific. The numbers people have no idea what they are looking at. You have selected the subject by making the foreground and background out of focus. I MUST learn to do this. I read about it and look at examples of it. The most effective use of this technique I find from looking at examples is isolating one person in a crowd. That rocks! Thanks for showing us this one of yours. I'd kill to be able to do this!! Link to comment
