natureslight 0 Posted February 10, 2012 Hi Patrick - I like the idea behind the composition of this image, the curving pathway heading into the trees. Unfortunately, at least on my monitor, the image is very over-exposed making everything appear washed out. I wonder if you shot this during the mid-day and thus had to work with the brighter skies and perhaps sun. Personally, I try very hard not to shoot these type scenes during mid-day and if I have to, I then use a polarizer to help deepen the colors. There are certainly things you can do in Photoshop or other image editing programs to increase the color saturation and contrast, but working with overexposure is always frought with challenge. Nonetheless, I do like the concept you were attempting to achieve.Irene Link to comment
patrickwells 2 Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks IreneI shot this around 9:00 in the morning on film with an overcast day,The day was just starting to clear. It was also hovering around the freezing point. So I may not have been as attentive to my settings as I should have been. This was the last shot of the day. On my monitor it was a tad washed out ,But it may need to be recalibrated.I'll check it outThanks for the input. I will definitely try your suggestions of running this thru P.S.,and also be more attentive in the future to my settingsPatPS I just went back and checked the print It is not washed out like the loaded image. Now I need to find out what happened so I can keep it from happening again Link to comment
