Hi Sam,

Nice capture.  I know it is just a test shot, as your title indicates, but it looks to me as though your shutter speed (1/640 sec.) was too slow to stop the motion of the rapidly moving stork.  I would try to get at least 1/1600 sec., preferably 1/2000 sec.  That should do nicely.

 Thanks for sharing!

Just wanted to add:  Instead of opening the aperture further, I would also bump up the ISO to maybe 800 or even 1600.  I have a 7D and 1600 is surprisingly usable - the 60 D has the same sensor as the 7D so it should be fine.  ISO 800 would have yielded about at least 1/2000 sec. with the conditions at the time of your capture.  Just a thought for your consideration.  Thanks again.

Hi Dennis,

thanks very much for your input!

I'll take it into consideration for the next shots - time permitting to do all the settings ;-)

cheers

Sam
