These Protea Flowers grow very well at higher elevations on Maui. This

photo was taken at the Kula Botanical Gardens. Aloha. All feedback,

ratings appreciated.

Hi

These are wonderful. The partial in lower right seems to detract, to me. I'm sure this can be done better, but here's an idea. But colors, clarity- all gorgeous.

The title is perfect, as "fireworks" were my first impression when viewing the thumbnail. Great combination of colour and definition!

Best Regards

From the thumbnail, it was fireworks indeed (feu d'artifice). And when I got to the bigger version it was still fireworks but of the floral kind.  This is a very fine image and it can be improved with with Gegory's version IMHO.

Greg, Tony, thanks for the constructive criticism.  I pondered removing it but in the end decided to leave it there.  Next time I'll trust that initial instinct.  I appreciate the honest feedback.  Aloha.

dominick,  not sure how i missed this one,  all i have to say is you sure do have some wonderful flowers to work with on that island of yours.  also agree about bottom flower,  gregs image has much better balance.  lovely work!

Hello Dominick,

Very creative and original.  The only adjustment I would make is to darker the background and increase the colors a bit.  I gave it a try in lightroom, what do you think.

Great image,

Ben

Ben, the darkened background certainly increases the illusion that these flowers are fireworks.  Thanks for the input.  I'm enjoying the flower arrangements you are posting.  You and your wife are both very talented.  Aloha.
