rheisch 0 Posted January 27, 2012 Thanks all! Irene, nothing major in post, shot in raw, adjusting exposure to max, increased black levels a bit, about +10 to vibrance. Shot with 180mm macro and 5DII, and using a 20x30 softbox 1600WS strobe at full power to allow for smaller apertures and increased DOF. The main problem I encountered was camera/strobe to subject angle; I believe we want the camera exactly perpendicular to the soap film plane, but I could not find a combination of light and camera angle to allow that. So focus across the entire image, left to right is difficult; so high aperture to increase DOF (and accepting softness due to edge diffraction). These bizarre "tube marbles" begin to occur after waiting quite a long time - and you need to thicken the soap (I used glycerin). Link to comment
