Great focus Paratasarathi! It really helps the hairy caterpillar come to life. I'm also amazed that it stayed so still for the full 15 seconds of exposure - well done!

Thanks a lot Martin Toumbev, it was almost today's evening when this photo was clicked and it gave me lots of time, even after taking of around 30 photos it was not moving.

Hi Parthasarathi,

A nice image to view smaller.

For me it is not as sharp as I have seen when the Canon 180mm F/3.5 macro is shot at F/4.

Larger f-stop = compromised image quality, which is a fact for very good lens.

This insect lies in the plane of best focus when it is parallel t the lens, so the DOF is not as much an issue here.
