This very polite young boy was among the many children attending

the concert at the park on August 14, 2008. He was a bit shy, but

when he saw the other children getting their photos taken, he soon

was smiling that big grin, hoping I think, that I would notice him. I

went over and asked if he'd like to have his photo taken, cleared it

with his Mom, and the smile that lit up his face when he saw his

image on my LCD Screen, alone, was enough to make the evening

worth while. He was, like many of the children, proudly wearing

colours that matched the Canadian Flag. I was glad, considering my

in-expertise with this then, new camera, that this shot turned out.

(thanks for your visit, most sincerely, Gail)

Hi Gail, Great photo of this young man. There's nothing quite like it when you see a genuine smile with the emotion attached to it, as that of a child. Very nice work.

Hi Gail,

A very good "on the spot" portrait.

It is always nice to experience good shots with a new camera, too !

Best Regards,  Mike

A beautiful portrait of this cute little fellow. You just did great with your new camera...the focus is spot on, the skin tones & lighting are very good & the background is pleasantly out of focus. You really cannot ask for more in a candid shot !

Best regards.

Hello Gail,

This is a very nice shot, with very soft lighting and excellent DOF.  I am not so sure about the frame though.

Lovely to hear such positive input Kallol. Portraiture is a bit of a learning curve for me, so it is truly nice when one turns out well.

Warmest regards, Gail
