This is the last of the JAWS series to post. The others were good rides,

but this is the reality of trying to surf this site. Every so often a massive

wave will tumble over you and hold you under. No one was hurt! Thanks for

rating. Aloha.

I have like the other in the series but for me this is the best. If you have cropped and there was was more to show on the right then I think it would be improved. Anyway excellent!

Thanks All, this is one of a dozen of this guy eating it.  I just held the shutter down...Robert, I'll post an uncropped version tomorrow.  But, of course, there's less detail.

Fantastic capture Dominick. I do not know where they get the XXXXX to actually risk this. I know they thrive on this thrill, but this has to be one of the most terrifying moments in a surfers experience. Man, he could get slammed by his board couldn't he??? I've never seen waves like this.

It must be something to watch this event. I hope this guy is OKAY....things look pretty bleak.

However, great capture for you. A little different from taking 'flower shots' isn't it???? :-)

Cheers Dom,

Gail

Gail, one guy broke three boards that day!   Out of sight, at left, are guys on jet skis with a special ramp attached.  They zoom in, grab the surfer, and pull him out of harms way....assuming they can get close enough.

Fabulous!!! Great capture.  Very impressive.  The color is simple but beautiful.  Great work.  Best Regards,

Dominick - this is superb! This image clearly demonstrates the power of that wave and the drama of the wipe out.  You have many many fine images in your portfolio but I think this genre of photography is your strength! Keep it up and all the very best,
