I love this photo! I am a beginner really interested in flower / macro photography, and am really impressed with this photo. I like the soft blue melting around the bud of the poppy.

wonderful shot. the only thing that gets to me is that the 2nd flower is out of focus. i know that is done on purpose, etc and i do it myself as well, but i liked looking the detail of the first flower i wanted to see more & was frustrated that the 2nd was not avaliable. don't get me wrong, i really like it!

I think the DOF adds to the shot. It gives a more abstract feel to the composition (one sharp, one soft) while at the same time, it also shows movement and distance. It changes the whole dimensionality of the image in my eyes. I love it! Those colors are hot too (I love blue and orange with deep green!)
