A B&W version of an image I posted earlier. To me, this one is all

about light and texture/ surface qualities without the colour, but I

guess that is what B&W is all about!

Oops!  I forgot to ask something.  What do you think of the surface qualities, and the tonal range in this one?  I found the red pepper became a green pepper in this version, which I don't mind.  I was more concerned with the yellow pepper in the back, and that it approximated yellow in monochrome.  Anyway, I digress.  Let me know what you think, and disregard my ramblings.

The print is too light.  It needs stronger darks in the pepper, and more texture in the cut lemon half.  Compositionally, I think there is too much background, and the left and right sides are out of balance.  Is that a label on the lemon?  I edited only for brightness, but it also needs cropping or maybe just concentrating on a tighter placement of fewer objects.

Thanks for the advice, Mark.  I was playing in Lightroom with exactly the same idea (darkening etc), but was not sure if that was the right route.  You have shown me that I should have stuck with my instincts, and went for more contrast!  Take care.
