Not Here 93 Posted January 10, 2012 Volker... As usual, superbly captured and presented. While peaceful and calm I also get a slightly menacing feeling, the desolation and the absence of life is tangible. Well done... Mike Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted January 10, 2012 Very good, I like the vignetting darkness at the deep corners. Excellent b&w image.Happy New Year.Bela Link to comment

tonyfrench 0 Posted January 11, 2012 Volker, very nicely presented. I like the dark center pier cutting into the space with the delicate, orderly posts arranged on either side. Link to comment
alessandra_manzotti 0 Posted January 11, 2012 Beautiful image! I love the balance broken up by the extra poles on the left. although assymetrical it really works great!CheersAlessandra Link to comment
stp 6 Posted January 11, 2012 That's an incredible assemblage of poles, and the long exposure is an appropriate way to show them. This is a case where I think the heavy vignetting works well. Nicely done. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted January 12, 2012 Hello Volker, I am enjoying your minimilistic style the more I see it. The silky smooth surface and vignetting give the image a very thick atmosphere IMHO. Very good work.BR,Holger Link to comment

wolfgangarnold 142 Posted January 24, 2012 technically perfect. The composition build mainly on the central pier and stong vignette at the top edges conveys a strong feeling of narrowness or squeeze (only balanced a bit by the pattern of poles). I almost want to escape this scene. Not sure, whether this was you intention. As a different approach, I can imagine, that with cropping 80-90% of the sky and a panorama-like aspect ratio you'd get a contrary impression (rather of wideness) - admittedly a very different image. alfbailey 1 Posted February 26, 2012 Great impression of depth, the solid appearance of the jetty gradually diminishing and fading in the mist, whilst the gaze of the viewer is aided by the vignetting. It is an incredible scene, and the long exposure contrives to add to the surreal stillness and sense of isolation. Superb!Best RegardsAlf Link to comment
