davidmccracken 2 Posted January 9, 2012 I am guessing that Neil Young was not thinking of the 24 hour processing of rust to ship to China when he wrote 'Rust Never Sleeps.' Maybe I am wrong. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted January 9, 2012 Excellent composition David but it leaves me wondering where the model is in the image. ;=)).The colors are fascinating. Cheers. -O Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 10, 2012 I didn't expect any feedback on this. However, the fact that you commented on this is very pleasing to say the least. Thanks a lot. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 13, 2012 Neil Young, himself, probably didn't know what he meant when he wrote that. And I'm sure the enterprising Chinese will make good use of all this material...undoubtedly turning it into products we will buy from them at over-inflated prices. I strongly suspect some parts of this computer I'm using are made from this stuff.I'd like to see this photo even larger than just clicking on it allows. It's apparent, even at this size, that there's a lot of detail in the pieces of mechanical equipment being used here. Then again, the photograph works for me equally as well in the smaller versions. The crane and front end loader are large pieces of machinery, yet they look almost like toys in comparison to the pile of waste. So the photo is a good sort of documentary shot that gives the viewer a look at just how much waste is generated by industrialised nations. And I'm sure there is much more of the stuff that's out of frame...millions of tons, I daresay. It's a good shot, and I like it. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more brightness in the yellow of the equipment, to provide a better comparison to the overall nastiness of the waste, but that's just nitpicking on my part. The equipment is undoubtedly very nasty as well. Link to comment
