brainbubba_motornapkins 0 Posted May 15, 2003 The sky and reflection in the water are wonderful; the bush (?) in the foreground is a distraction and should be cropped out. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted May 15, 2003 Thank you for your comment. The flowers are here just to make a foreground. On other photos of the same subject, there is no foreground and I find the lower part too empty and too black. I have visited your portfolio and put one comment about. Link to comment
brainbubba_motornapkins 0 Posted May 15, 2003 Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, I was wondering, 'how the hell did he find this?'. That moon reminds of this Albert Pinkham Ryder painting: , and that's why I think the picture would be stronger with that as it's undisputed focus. But it's your composition. My wife and I were over last October, and took the train up the west coast to Oban. Anywhere near you? Some of your shots look much like it. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted May 18, 2003 I think Oban is more in the south. We don't have go further loch Torridon. I have seen the painting you say. I find more resemblance with certain paintings of an american painter of the XIXe Century named Blakelock. Link to comment
neil_lupin 0 Posted November 21, 2003 Hi, I like the cloud - its very moody but I agree the yellowish flowers in the foreground are distracting and a higher crop would work better. Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted March 6, 2004 Henri, dramatic sky! My only quibble is the cropping. I think the image would be enhanced by cropping the lower portion with the bush. Link to comment
philgeusebroek 0 Posted July 26, 2007 The sky here seems like it is moving when you first glance at the image. Well done. I liked your Scotland presentation! Link to comment
