orourke 0 Posted January 6, 2012 Enrolled in college photography classes, on "assignment" to capture current event images, I was fortunate to catch President Carter on one of his final campaign stops in the fall of 1980. This photo is one that captured the crestfallen mood of the President that day as well as any of the other images I took. He was campaigning, but it seemed as though he was just going through the motions. He was in the midst of the Iranian hostage crisis and an economy in shambles.
