It seems that her autism is irrelevant here -- she's a beautiful little redheaded girl enjoying the Christmas lights.  While the OOF lights are great, I think I would have preferred something less than wide open to have her right eye in focus, especially since her left eye is partly hidden by her hood.

Hi Dennis

I find this a delightful image on a subject I can relate to.

I am going to disagree with Stephen and say her autism is totally relevent. For me the DoF puts into perspective how the world might be viewed through the eyes of an autistic child.

The composition and lighting is wonderful and seeing this has been a pleasure, thank you for sharing.

All the very best to you and your family for 2012.

Kind regards

Gareth.

I thought it was irrelevant simply because I would not have known about the autism if I hadn't been told.

Stephen, I maybe should have worded my comment differently, I wasn't implying that your obersavtions were incorrect mearly that I was viewing from a different perspective.

I focused on the closest eye and wanted the shallow DOF to exaggerate the Christmas lights.  With her you cannot get her to look at the camera or pose so the level of difficulty is raised. So I had to manually focus the lens at f1.9 quickly to capture this, as there was no posing to compose it and retry. This was why I posted about her autism. I can only imagine what I could have produced if I get her to pose. Thank you for your kind words and constructive criticism, it is appreciated.
