new work Toby Gras

Toby is five and has been having his portrait done since he was

about five weeks old! Comments welcomed - thanks!

I like the concept, and like the use of the Mardi Gras beads.  I think the beads could've been used a bit more effectively, and I'd like the overall composition/image a lot more if it was more photographic in nature, rather than using so much of the painterly effect.

I tried the beads around his neck, but Toby would have no part of that idea, so then ended up in front of him.  I have a couple of other poses, too, that may be better.

Ahhhh, those finicky models! ;-)

 

Now that is one very cute cat. I love the set up as well, not too cheesy but cheesy enough to make you wanna go awwww. Nice job.
