Hello Andrea,

Nice image.  It is great how you succeeded in making an interesting and attractive composition, while there is a tree cutting the image in two.

Well Done,
Ben

Andrea, I like the composition and the depth. I wonder if the black beside the man is a shadow of the tree in front or not?  Regards Marco

Such a great start for this year 2012 although this photo looks to be 10 months old. It was really about time to present it to us, so thank you.

I do very much admire the graphical impact of this clear cut photo by the composition and tones. I feel I have right to expect works like this by you, although you seem to prefer to document people more like in street phtography style.

Marco above wonders if he sees a shadow of the front tree. Because there is not slightest hint of a strong light creating shadows here, so my take is if we see here an outdoors artwork, part of which is a flat profile of a tree trunk at front, or result of a masking and partial treatment of local contrast, or just a well crafted composite photo?

Anyway a great photo indeed.

i find it very difficult to understand the context of this picture. where is this taken? what is the man doing? is he posing? is that another tree he's standing next to? i find it very distracting; a little man behind a big tree trunk, squeezed between two white walls. it's a very unnatural piece of space, and the bright panels are very hard on the eyes. i'll imagine it's simply a minimalist graphic with no point or aesthetic purpose other than small pastiche, Andrea. dp

This is a strong street photograph, Andrea! I like it a lot. I like the idea, very good timing and presentation. The compostion looks very good, quite elegant. Best regards.

, thanks for your attention. this was an "artistic" istallation in the maxxi's square, that gunnar and markku knows well. and both the trees are part of it.

I like this too; it's intriguing and cleverly composed. ( & I initially had a similar thought to Marco's). The high contrasts, and the way you used lines, shapes and forms work really well together; it bears your signature, no doubt.
