The caption has nothing to do with the real state of mind of the modelwhose face was used for the montage (neither of them two!)

Thank youfor your attention dear colleagues!

Pierre, My turn: Happy New Year! This picture offers however not a happy feeling. I think he isn't a prisoner of his mind but of human beings. In nature his mind is excellent. Regards Marco

I thought this 'ape' appeared a bit odd, a fine job you did of combining the two images! I think this image will say a lot of different things to many!!

You have a fine imagination Pierre! great composition!

Kindest regards, Gail

My friend, Pierre, wonderful work.

Thought provoking, especially about Man's status.................are we really that advanced ?

We are a complex society, with many self made problems and limitations. Other life forms just simply exist, and quite efficiently at that.

Best Regards,  Mike

To make us think? What that "Mona Lisa's" smile is about? I admire your skills - you can do almost anything! Do you give lessons on youtube, do you sell DVDs?I would like to have one:). Happy New year and happy new accomplishments! Warm regards, Tamara

Pierre, In the first I didn't see the eyes, nose and smile of you. I'm sorry, but we know each other shortly. Technical it is amazing what you are doing! Your meaning is now very clear to me.  A human being that is limiting himself. I hope for you that this photo is self-mockery. Regards Marco

Nothing short of amazing!  This photograph really captures the behavioral changes in these magnificent creatures that captivity creates.  I wonder whether the furrows in its brow are the result of anxiety or worry or feelings of being imprisoned, or instead are the result of boredom.

My best wishes for a wonderful 2012,

michael

Marco, you are right about everything you said here except involving me, not my face and not mockery at all, just a description of a man imprisoned with his negative thoughts and depressed!

Happy New Year Michael and all!

Well, the first thing that comes to mind is a schoolmaster that I had in younger days who looked just like this, but I am sure the monkey is wiser and more intelligent.

It is a striking portrait of course, not just of an ape, but of man's inhumanity in the way that we often treat animals. From that perspective of course it is horrible.

A powerful picture, Pierre, bravo.

And if I haven't already wished you a Happy New Year, my very best to you. John

Hello Pierre,

A thought provoking image.  I fits very well with my recent feelings.

Lots of people have to sit in a metal cage for two hours a day going to work and back.  We force young energetic people to sit for hours on desks which are to small, watching somebody with a piece of chalk.  Then we are surprised some people start acting crazy ....

This is a wonderful image.

Congratulations,
Ben

You did a hell of a good job here. The human face, expression mounted  to the monkey is excellent. The title is well reflected on the image. Excellent work.

I'm also share the comments from Ben.

Excellent work as always Pierre. A sad commentary on life. I like the blue monotone, it really emphasizes the sadness. I think this may be a lady. I see what looks like a large nipple in-between the two hands... ?

I recently rented the DVD "Return to the Planet of the Apes". This reminded me of at first glance. It was better than I thought it would be. You might enjoy it too.

Keep your mind and soul beautiful with thoughts of joy, happiness and contentment. Wishing you peace in the New Year.
