davidmccracken 2 Posted May 13, 2003 I went along to this fair hoping to get picture of some screaming children. I did get these photos but they weren't brilliant. This photo amuses me. Sure! The guy at the back with the red shirt is distracting but I had to be quick. I am sure the kids' excitement would not have lasted forever. Link to comment
mistym 0 Posted May 18, 2003 I think there's enough motion in the scene that the red shirt does not distract all that much - I was ready to write a comment without even noticing it, until I read your comment pointing it out. I think it is a very amusing shot, and tells the story of how these two were feeling at the time - though you can't tell why from the photograph (not that that's a problem, but if you wanted it to say "These kids are at a fair and they hate it" it doesn't quite do that). I think it's very nicely composed, if I could change one thing about it, I think that a tiny bit more depth of field so that the girl on the left is also in very sharp focus would make it a little easier to view. Otherwise great shot! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 25, 2003 Fairs are supposed to be fun, happy, exciting places, and yet thes little girls expressions belie that commonly accepted fact-- maybe a little bit of trepidation in both of them. As an adult, I can see the humor in this photo. Link to comment
jefwong 0 Posted June 8, 2003 This is a very funny shot. I believe the ride didn't start yet, they look bored waiting for the ride to start. I like this shot because it has the opposite effect of yr title...it's amusing!! Link to comment
jody 0 Posted June 16, 2003 I wish this were a little crisper. But the sentiment it conveys is lovely. Link to comment
amanda mumma 0 Posted February 7, 2004 I don't mind the red - it gives more of a 'fair' feeling. Funny how the mind works - its obvious that they are on a ride at a fair so the red is not out of place, if it weren't for your comment I wouldn't have noticed...and yet I usually find my eye is drawn to the red! yoleung77 0 Posted March 1, 2004 Why are they seems unhappy? This was the first question I got in my mind. I think the shot is very good, but in the context of they are on a playground..is too contrast. Or is this what you want to bring out actually? Anyway, I do like the facial expression of those kids. davidmccracken 2 Posted March 2, 2004 Does the excitement of this fairground ride have you sitting on the edge of your seat? I took this photo a while ago but thought I would ask for a critique on it. Actually I just want to share it with you as I think it is amusing..... but comments ratings and critiques are welcome on this or any of my photos! Link to comment
matt_c2 0 Posted March 21, 2004 This is a wonderful shot David, slightly more DOF maybe but the composition is perfect. Link to comment
