overdiep 0 Posted January 2, 2012 Ha, Maria, this is the red one. I understand you photographed first before you gave it away as a present? I prefer the red one. Link to comment
maria 7 Posted January 3, 2012 I ended making a gift of both: one for Christmas and one for New Year.I am now waiting for my tulips from the Netherlands, but unfortunately it looks like I'll have no flowers; I only had first year, last year there were also only leaves - maybe I should have done something? overdiep 0 Posted January 3, 2012 Maria, Where did you buy the tulips? And do you have the tulips inside or outside the house? Very important is the depth of the bulb in the ground. Further light and water. If you have the tulips outside and it is freezing than the depth of the bulb is very important. Sometimes it is recommended to add peat dust. I am not an expert, but this is what I can say. If everething goes wrong I suggest you to visit the Netherlands in spring. You are welcome. Do you know the famous garden Keukenhof? I was lucky to exhibit sculptues there in 2010 and 2011. In Keukenhof they put bulbs on different depths. The highest planted tulips come first. It is funny that we can have discussions on PN about tulips! Regards Marco Link to comment
maria 7 Posted January 4, 2012 Hi Marco,I really don't remember where I bought the tulips - some kind of shop in the flower market in Amsterdam. Not black, unfortunately. Here the tulips when they had flowers:http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1390841413633.2054930.1310055151&type=1Indeed, they are not so deep in the ground anymore, since the bulbs now became more.I have them inside the house. Many thanks, I did not know you are in the Netherlands!greetingsMaria Link to comment
overdiep 0 Posted January 4, 2012 Maria, Yes I am a Dutchman. A worked a long time as a journalist with a financial daily in Amsterdam. I walked very often along the flower market. I never bought tulip bulbs on that market. It is more for tourists. From which country are you? You travelled a lot I have seen. As a journalist I visited also many countries in the world. I cannot get the link you mentioned ( perhaps it does not exist anymore). If you are inrerested in my sculptures in Keukenhof you can find it on www.keukenhof/activities/art. overdiep 0 Posted January 4, 2012 Maria, I checked the link of Keukenhof and I found that they give now only information of the coming art exhibition. The overview of sculptures in 2011 is gone. Greetings Marco Link to comment
maria 7 Posted January 5, 2012 I was born in Romania but lived quite long abroad, a total of 11 years, from which 2 and half in Italy and the rest in Germany, but I travelled a lot between the two. Also, I now have a second citizenship, Hungarian, but I never lived there. Yes, I had a lot of funding to go to conferences, which seems nice because you travel, but on the other hand conference publications are not the best, so I have an unusual record, with more conference publications than journal papers, due to the stimulative funding to go to conferences. And, although it might seem a good idea to document building (facades) seeing them on site, I am so bad in photography that today I found one project of mine showcased by the European Commission with a piece of photography of a history building bought from a stock photographer ... this should work http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1390841413633.2054930.1310055151&type=1&l=2f1949fa6e Link to comment
mike_palermiti 3 Posted January 19, 2012 Hi Maria,Nice scene. It would be so much easier for me to rate the merits of your work if I had the technical details of what lens and settings were used.I do not like to speculate on what you did here, but you would receive some professional input that might be beneficial to you for future works.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
