There were not many flowers in bloom when we visited Brookgreen

Gardens in South Carolina(November 9th,2011), but the ponds had

the odd Lotus. The ponds were lovely with the reflections of the

Spanish Moss that draped heavily from the Magnificent Live Oak

trees. I did not manage to get too many great captures of the Live

Oak trees, but they were awesomely beautiful, one that dated back

before the time of the Constitution. It was fittingly called the

Constitution Oak. I may post the shot I did get just so you can see

how very large these wonderful trees are. Brookgreen is definitely a

place I shall love to visit again one day, but this time I shall take

advantage of the full 7 days to explore. (thanks for your visit, Gail)

It is no wonder that, according to Hindu philosophy, "the jewel is indeed in the lotus."  Your portrayal of this amazing flower is exquisite.

My best,

Hi Gail,

Very beautiful reflective shot. The lotus is gorgeous but I also like the lighter blurred BG for the contrast it provides to the sharpness of the subject. Your PP and framework as always first rate in MHO. Take care and Merry Christmas.

Simply beautiful and effective. Colors are very natural and subtle, and light is excellent. Reflection augmented the beauty of the scene. Bravo.

I admire your technique and your unerring sense of composition and color. Your manipulations never seem facile or showy but always manage to bring forth an elegant image and a fresh aspect of the subject. Happy New Year, Gail, I'll be following your progress in the coming year.

Hello Gail,

I like the creative framing of the lotus, It is between vignetting and framing.

The framing and reflections are for me the strong points of this image.

Best regards,
Ben

Very beautiful shot Gail. South Carolina is marvelous for flower photography, as I remember from my visit there several years ago!
