My friend David Speight suggested I convert the original to b&w. My other friend Jeff Grant suggested a more monochromatic treatment, with less magenta and blue. This has a lot less magenta and blue. I'm thankful for friends who chime in when I post and offer sound advice! Please click the preview for the full size image!

Yes, this definitely fits the bill Mark. That swirling mist in the curve of the hillside gives the impression of a rising blizzard. I think the highlights through the clouds really come into their own on this version also, I would have loved to have been there to watch this.

Merry Xmas,

Dave.

Spot on, Mark. This sings. The B&W really works very well and that mist makes it. The removal of the blue has worked well.

Gorgeous B&W work Mark! I had a look at the previous color version, and must say that I much prefer this version. Love the low hanging clouds and lovely soft lighting. You really lucked out with the weather on this trip! Brilliant work my friend!

All the best,
Neil

Stunning!  The frosting just puts this over the edge, and the mystery of the clouds and peaks is something photographers dream about for their images.  My only suggestions might be to crop the far left tree trunk, as it draws my eye a bit in the sea of white.  And maybe just my personal processing style, I might try darkening the shadows inthe clouds, approaching some of the tones in the shaded rock.  This might add a little punch in the sky that might be easily improved.  Jackpot!

Been out playing in the snow again hey.  Hope your mom taught you to dress appropriately.  Nice work again, rek.

Mesmerizing, freezing mood, light and oppressive at the same time,,  and mainly the clever framing are outstanding. Chapeau.
