thadley 15 Posted January 2, 2012 Yes indeed! A wonderful thought and a terrific image - great light and lovely tones. I also like the shadow on the left wall."Have Not without hope" vs "Have" is a dangerous deterrent to world peace. All the very best for the New year! Link to comment

Not Here 93 Posted January 10, 2012 Dimitris... Sorry that I missed this one until now. Excellent b/w tones and intricate detail. A timely capture that stops the obvious great effort in progress and makes the viewer wonder what is going on. A fabulous street shot... Mike Link to comment

dgv 1 Posted January 11, 2012 Richard it is so nice to hear from you again. Thanks for dropping in!.Alberto thank you very much. I am glad you like it.Panayoti thank you very much my friend!.Tony…”Have Not without hope” vs “Have” is a dangerous deterrent to world peace; is great thought. Thank you my friend.George thank for your visit my friend!.Michael if anybody needs to apologise it's me but more of that later. Taking the picture, during a walk in north Nicosia with a friend, I instinctively knew that there was a strong back story to it….when I saw the picture I choked with emotion;..the delapidated house that the lady has to fetch water up that rickety, makeshift ladder every day, maybe several times a day as they obviously have no running water...What does it all mean?Rajat you are back! I am pleased! Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted January 14, 2012 I think Richard Hans described this shot most admirably Dimitris!. I imagine this woman is living in Poverty, perhaps not of her choice, but of no other alternative. She has such a heavy weight to carry, yet the one on her 'shoulders' must be much heavier. The stairway is precarious at best, and to have to navigate it 'alone' must be so challenging. It inof - itself speaks to me of 'no male' in her life that is either talented enough to build a proper stairway, even out of odds and ends, certainly a better one could be built. If she does have a male partner, he obviously cannot or does not care about her safety and well being. An excellent image with 'so many' stories that could be told...if only the Walls or the Stairway could talk!!!!Warmest regards, Gail Link to comment
