Two women bazaar sellers gossip in between exchanges with

buyers of their home grown produce, preserves and home barnyard

meat products in a major Eastern European City famous for its

bazaars. Your ratings, critiques and observations are invited and

most welcome. If you rate harshly, very critically, or wish to make a

remark please submit a helpful and constructive comment; please

share your photographic knowledge to help improve my

photography. Thanks! Enjoy! John

If you look through my portfolio (and I know you have seriously), then you are well aware I will try any way possible to take a photograph, over, under, from front and behind, overhead and around, even sneaking up behind someone and occasionally saying 'moschina' (mister) to make them turn around, or even tapping someone on the shoulder ever so lightly, (not often but in the most dire circumstances, yes, if I think the results will be well worth it, but again, very, very, very rarely for that particular maneuver).

The important thing is in the end to have peace with my subects, and even be welcomed the next time, and GET THE CAPTURE, without endangering myself (usually, though in street it always is possible especially from nonsubject intervenors), and finally to do justice to the photograph as a work of art in the photo and often in the 'street' genre which I favor so heavily.

I always welcome your periodic visits, they lighten sometimes heavy days.  Thank you so very much for stopping by and commenting.

You've recorded an expression on her face that speaks the universal language of communication, and for that alone this image is a keeper. And even in such a tight composition the situation reveals itself - perhaps not that it is a bazaar but a suggestion of chatter, gossip. We can see enough of the subject towards whom the woman speaking is looking to guess that its another woman. A balanced tri-zoned composition- the central third for the primary target (pardon the use of the word!), the right third for the secondary one, and the left third for setting and depth. A fine Street photograph.

Those who no qualms about such things might photoshop away the vertical protrusion into the frame on the left. In my perception it would then cease to be a Street photograph, so I would leave it there...

I thank you for a complimentary and through explication of this photo's composition.  It is entirely accurate.

I suddenly find I have newfound Photoshop skills and now would be able to give more detail, texture and character to the face of the chatting woman which would make this photo technically more attractive.

I finally have begun, after eight years here, to work a little with burning and dodging and other brightness/contrast manipulations, and I think you recently have seen the difference, just not in this photo.

If I were to exhibit this, I'd rework it, and compare, and I think now I can do a better job.

Best to you.

Your critiques are most welcome, always.
