Nice image Bjorn.  I don't think the "extra space" (in my opinion) adds anything to the image. The image is all about her, her lines and her eyes. The space at the top and to her right distract from that. Keep in mind, I consider myself and environmental portrait photographer, so I very seldom come in close. I photograph the subject's surroundings as well. In this case though, I would get in closer. Hope this is helpful amd thanks for posting it.
