bettiecl 0 Posted December 11, 2011 I somehow cannot leave this image from a shoot in 2003 in the Namibian Desert alone. With every revisit I have to try new post processing techniques - all in an attempt to better express the strange experience in this other worldly place in the Namibian Desert. These dead Camel thorn trees with their anthropomorphic shapes evoke for me an upside down dance of death. Absurd and comical, but also ominous. Link to comment
alfbailey 1 Posted December 12, 2011 I quite like that "Dance of death" analogy it seems befitting and quite poignant.I recently came across a lone dead tree standing on Rannoch Moor in Scotland and mentally entitled it "The Last Dance". But the setting was no where near as surreal and seemingly alien as this one. I can understand your fascination with it Bettie. I think it deserves all the attention you care to bestow upon it, I wish it were mine.Sincere ComplimentsAlf Link to comment
kristina_kraft 0 Posted December 13, 2011 For me, it is very moving picture. Shows beauty of the unknown and alien macabre space. Strength can be found in darkness too.P.S. Thanks for commenting on my exhibition picture.Best wishes,Kristina Link to comment
