aepelbacher 0 Posted May 8, 2003 I don't usually do many flower or macro-type shots. But I couldn't resist the cherry blossoms in DC in April. I'm learning about depth of field. In my opinion, a shallower DOF would be even nicer. Any ratings or comments are greatly appreciated!! Thanks!! Link to comment
jogden139 0 Posted May 8, 2003 i like how the flowers are in focus and the background is blurry it maked them stand out more, also how the background colors are mainly solid blue, white, green and dark brown, the contrast of the blossums stand out alot through my eyes Link to comment
brla 0 Posted May 8, 2003 need more depth of field; focused area is good but it gets out of focus too fast Link to comment

mg 0 Posted October 17, 2006 I don't think the picture is all that good in terms of composition, but colors are nice, and there's creativity here... and imo, a great idea... well, IF the idea was to somehow oppose the trunk of the tree to what grows from the tree - the flowers. Slightly more DOF, just to have the whole front branch sharp, and a step or two to your right - which would separate the tree from the branch a little more -, then reframing the shot a little larger if necessary to include the tree, and I think the result could have been a lot better. aepelbacher 0 Posted October 17, 2006 Marc - thank you for taking the time to look through my portfolio and pick out some of my older shots. This is another that I took quite a while back. I loved the colors and wanted to experiment with DOF. Again, I appreciate the time that you've spent here. :-) Link to comment
