I was very fortunate in that my first job out of High School was with a

firm in Toronto, Ontario. It was there that I developed a love of

Graphics, Interior Decorating, and thoughts of travelling the world.

My Boss was British with a grande sense of humour and I was quite

often the object of his Practical Jokes and Wild Tales because he

knew I was quite naive. On my first 'business trip' we travelled to

Paris and then on to Rome by car. Luckily for me, his wife came

along, and she kept close tabs on me. Whenever he decided to

tease or 'hopefully scare me' she'd try to persuade him to 'back off'. I

did not always know when he was serious or 'pulling my leg'. He and

I set out one afternoon to buy his wife a gift while in Paris. He began

telling me of the Itinerary plans after Rome. We would go on to Tel

Aviv and if all went well RANGOON was the next stop, but he was

very worried that we did not catch the 'Deadly Rangoon Fever' for

there was no remedy and the fever and hallucinations were sheer

torture. I listened intently; as always he was quite convincing. Later

that evening I expressed my 'fears' of that dreadful place to his wife.

She assured me that he was 'all talk' and not to worry. We did not

make it to RANGOON, but to this day, whenever I come down with a

bad cold with 'fever' I always say it is the 'RANGOON FEVER' and

I'm not responsible for my behaviour due to Hallucinations. It was

always a great story to tell my children, and now the grandchildren.

The memories always bring back a 'chuckle'. (Thanks for dropping

Hi Gail,

Your gorgeous image has placed deep within the Twilight Zone.

I love it.......................now back to my drink.

This image is gentle and flowing, and yet has a strong sense of structure, geometry and order. The multiple layers and range of colors convey a level of complexity and depth that makes this abstract very rich and full of meaning.
