awe of what we have seen a million times and take for granted.

Well said, Deb. Hopefully photography helps us cynical adults to recapture the wonder in the world around us. As to the photo, I love that you caught this little girl in deep concentration as she looks at the leaf. Somehow, her glasses and bow make this a more interesting shot to me. The "cutting off her feet" composition and black and white presentation work well in this image, IMHO. I like it.

You are indeed correct my dear friend!  I'm in awe and wonder of all things lovely and more importantly given/shared with me out of kindness.  I also am in awe of kind and lovely people that impress me with their thoughtfulness!  You, Mr. Dumas, are such a person :)

Thank you so much for seeing the lovely-ness of this moment.  Her interest in this simple fallen leaf was so impressive to me that I could not stop watching her through my viewfinder.  Life is too short not to be in awe of all that is around us in nature everyday!
