Pierre Dumas 231 Posted December 14, 2011 All blue, the sky grainy and the boat smooth!Best regards Mr. Kraft!PDE Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted December 14, 2011 I hadn't noticed the grain. I took three, probably with the second exposed half as long as the first, the third taken (with the same exposure as the second) because the rocking boat made me unsure about framing. I picked the brightest one because it had more space in the frame below the rope.Curiously, the brightest one seems to have more obvious grain, despite the fact that there was more light. This curious result may have occurred because the sky from the brightest exposure ends up brighter in the final processed picture. I have attached a detail to show the grain in the two processed versions. Thanks a lot, Pierre. best, j Link to comment
thadley 10 Posted February 17, 2012 Jamie - a lovely shot. I really like the composition. The pale blue of the boat shaply and pleasantly contrasts with the dark blue waters. The rope has a most intriguing shape - almost a treble clef or a simple 8. I addressed the noise with NEAT noise reduction which i seldom use but when I do, it is on a separate layer in case it diminishes details which I can paint back from the original. I did a small crop of the sky. Again, the attachment is just for dialogue. All the best, Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted February 17, 2012 I like that. The noise doesn't bother me much (I like film), and the effect on the downsampled version is subtle. Let me know if you'd be willing to try it on a full res. I do my own colour-plane noise reduction, so I can get you a version without that manipulation if you like. Thanks Tony. best, jamie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted August 25, 2012 I like it both cropped and uncropped. Either way, the deck at the bow is very inviting. Look at that deck planking. It gets harder and harder to find good wooden boats in the U.S. --Lannie Link to comment
