Christal1664882414 0 Posted December 2, 2011 Artistic and beautiful......very clever title. I think the blown out white places work for this image.....it takes on a little more of an abstract look. You have some lovely flower images in your portfolio. Link to comment

Tony Rowlett 53 Posted December 4, 2011 This is WOW! Nice work here. I dabble in close-up/macro, and I know how difficult it is to get a nice effect like this. Link to comment

It is not necessarily the "best" picture the Elves have seen this week, nor is it a contest.Discussion of photo.net policy, including the choice of Photograph of the Week should not take place here, but in the Help & Questions Forum. The About Photograph of the Week page tells you more about this feature of photo.net.Before writing a contribution to this thread, please consider our reason for having this forum: to help people learn about photography. Visitors have browsed the gallery, found a few striking images and want to know things like why is it a good picture, why does it work? Or, indeed, why doesn't it work, or how could it be improved? Guest Guest Posted April 9, 2013 Is photo.net doing variations on a theme for its POTWs now? This looks like a bad attempt to emulate last week's POTW, even though this one was made two years ago. There are very few, if any, elements that are in focus here. There's no discernable (to me) depth of field. The colors sort of just seem randomly splashed across the image. It makes me wonder if there was even a lens on the camera. Nothing for me to see here...guess I'll move along. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted April 9, 2013 With all due respect to Jim, I like the shallow depth of field. Looks like a mimosa blossom, but I don't know that it matters what species it is.I couldn't remember last week's at first, and so I went back and looked at it:[LINK]They are both photos of flowers, but there the resemblance ends for me. Oh, well, one likes what one likes. . . .--Lannie Link to comment
