donna pallotta 108 Posted December 2, 2011 i appreciate the smile on her face as she emerges into the sunlight, Pnina. that by itself is a lovely image... but because of present conditions and empowerments of women in these parts of the world, my interpretation is metaphoric of her emergence into a stronger position in her society; and because of that sunlight and that smile, i can only feel hopeful and supportive. a very positive image for me ;-} dp Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted December 2, 2011 gorgeous lighting on a very pretty woman with an expressive face. The emerging into that strip of light is poignant. It seems so personal, she looks caught up in concern. You've neutralized that background perfectly -- that man present enough to provide depth, what is on the other side of her nicely almost negated. The bit of red draws the eyes to the area between her face and hands, by her heart-- for sure, if you knew how to find her, she would love this portrait Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted December 3, 2011 One time excessive contrast works in your favour. She does indeed appear to be emerging from a dark place. Her apparent happy demeanor could be due to the fact that she has just made a purchase of some treasure she has long desired or else came across by pure chance. Without all the pertinent facts the viewer's imagination can run wild. Something for everyone! Best, LM. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted December 3, 2011 I like how the light slices the scene, spotlighting her without her knowing any better. The red to the left and the blue to the right almost seem like afterimages. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted December 3, 2011 Donna P. Thanks for enlarging the content of the photo. I did not think in that direction and it is a nice way of looking at it. I hope that they will be as you feel about their futureDonna S. Thanks for your impressions, It was a moment at the flea market ,she was a passer by as I myself was... I don't think I will ever be able to know who she was.... Len , her smile to herself is a secret to me, as it is for you as a viewer, the PP from the full frame made it possibe to separate her from the wild noise in the area....;-)) Jeff, I think that it was not possible to separate the red and blue from the end result as I saw it as a good " border signing."Pierre, thanks for your impressions, and writting about the technical side. tibig 0 Posted December 3, 2011 I like a lot this image. The way you got a succession of dark shade and sharp sunlight together with the repetition of shapes (her head and the arches in the background, her shoulder and the person with the leather hat, the front of her head and the hair if the lady in the shadows) there is so much to discover here!!Regards, Tibi Link to comment

3m 0 Posted December 10, 2011 Tibi indeed described the scene above very nicely... I too like the diagonal ray of sunlight on the lady, as well as the way you subsequently composed the photo in this square format -- Very nicely done; it contains a lovely overall movement. -- This is a slightly overdue visit, as I have been quite busy with the family lately; having had much less time for PN... Hope that you are doing very well, Pnina & my best wishes to you, Marjolein Link to comment
