lachaine 20 Posted June 2, 2003 The photo is fine, but what a beautiful basset. Exactly like the one I had as a kid. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted June 2, 2003 What a gaze, it penetrates me and shows that obviously animals have a soul too. Link to comment

jeff d 1 Posted June 3, 2003 I get this look from my dog as soon as food is the issue at hand (paw?). Great picture. You may want to increase the depth of field so that the entire animal is in focus. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted June 3, 2003 The part of Winston that matters to me is his face : that's sharp - and accentuated by the shallow field depth. A few suggestions should there be a "next time" : don't have the white fur lining in the fg, try to avoid having it compete with his colouring (you could include with a shot from slightly higher up - and then crop out.) Don't try to fit too much of him into the frame, all you need is that soulful face. I like the split bg but wish here that it ran the horizontal length of the image; however I realise you are shooting in a confined space (like trying to do something creative with a baby in a cot) and are limited by that. No need to box yourself and your subject in, of course.... I like the shot but it can certainly be moved from "near good" to "very good." Great to have you as a subscriber. Regards. Link to comment
nem 0 Posted June 4, 2003 I'm not a dog lover, but I know the look. This guy wants some lovin'. ;-) Nice job. Link to comment
laura2 0 Posted June 4, 2003 Can I have him? :D I think the slightly off-whiteish color of the doggie bed brings out his eyes and the gold of the brown in his fur. The shallow DOF helps too. It looks very professional. Sure I can't have him? :D Link to comment
