Thanks for your thoughts.  It was considerate of them to plant a tree so the branches would break up the excessive sky area.  :-)  Best, LM.

A classic composition with fine inner framing and beautiful object well lit! Calm and peaceful composition!

Best regards Len!

The structure was built using some unusual construction techniques, at least for this area.  Google for more info.   Too much to go into here.  "...internal framing...."!  Yeh, great place for a tree.  Well, luck is good!  Best, LM.

Beautiful shot Len with nice soft light & lovely colour tones. Although the image has been taken from a low angle you have managed to keep distortion at check.

Sincere regards.

Light was thanks to late afternoon autumn sky.  I forgot (?) to mention that I corrected for a bit of distortion in Photoshop.  What would we do without it?  :-)  Thanks for your visit.  Best, LM.

The place is " shouting"  tranquility and silent beauty. I like the camera point, the shadows of trees on the LHS  and the bulb light on the entrance door...(two kinds of light)... Very nice architecture as well as conservation..

What you see is what you get.  It is indeed a silent and tranquil place.  I happened by when the minister was busy in the church, thus the light over the door.  Luck is good!  It's a well cared for building.  Has to be because of the materials used to construct it. (Google for a more in-depth explanation).  I metered the incident light falling on the front door and then underexposed 2 stops. Negs are nice.  Best,  LM.

I first had thoughts of cropping out the upper tree limb, but quickly changed my mind after a trial scroll upwards to view. It definately adds to character of the building, perhaps like an ancient observer silently watching the congregations coming and going. Great exposure, and perhaps a good potential subject for when the snow is on the ground too.  Nice work Len!

Best Regards

Alf

Interesting suggestion to crop (perhaps to 645)  The limb you refer to is arguably a distraction.  (but fits inside a 6x6 frame beautifully)  Good suggestion to go back in the winter.  I'll put that on my to-do (on a bright sunny winter day) list with another area church, the Oro African Church.  Thanks for your visit and insight.  Best, LM.
