This oak tree is located in the Charleston area and reported to be at least 400

years old, there are rumors it is much older - about 1500 years old. It

withstood hurricanes and earthquakes in the area and is still strong and

magestic!

Oksana, I just critiqued a couple of your pictures and then came across this one.  I posted a picture of Angel Oak just this week...so I was surprised to see that you had posted one as well!  Unless you've seen this old tree in person it's hard to grasp just as huge and magnificent it truly is. Do you happen to live in the Charleston area?

Regards,

John

Angel Oak is one of the hardest things to photograph to really bring out its size, that's why I was glad to see the person hidden in the limbs to the right side...this adds a sense of scale where the viewer can actually get some concept of its size. The colors are very natural and the mottled shade adds mood to the photo. I think it's great, keep up the good work.
