There is so much energy in this "static" shot!  The graphic element of the spiral staircase framed by the nautilus-like shape and the verticals of the railings really pull in the eye.

I think that the subtle colours also add to the contemplative nature of the image.

Your perspective compliments the architects imagination to translate this "well" to a dynamic artistic space - not to mention the usefullness of the staircase of course:-). I ditto the insightful remarks already made, specially about the paraodox of energy of this meditative space, that your compostion accentuates.
