This viewpoint is from the road; literally standing on the road and looking behind me as I set up, hoping it wouldn't be my very last photograph. Still, most people driving through Yosemite along Southside Drive are not startled by someone with a tripod shooting from the left lane. They just merge to the right. Or they might stop, get out and setup right next to me. Anything goes with photographers in Yosemite Valley!

Mark...  Does shooting from the left lane make you a "windshield tourist"?  Well, I guess not since you at least got out of the car... many don't.   There are many versions of this classic view but I don't think there are any that are better... I'm sure enjoying your trip... Mike

Thanks John, Camilo and Mike! Mike, a contemporary tourist shoots with an iPhone while driving and uploads it to Facebook, all within a half mile!

Here's a good laugh...

I'm an ex-photographer.  (Now) I'm an IT Consultant/Tech & don't have an iPhone & don't use Facebook or Twitter.

I might take a shot of something w/ my mobile phone but, sure not for any serious photography.

Anyway... very pretty picture!

Cheers,
Drew

Gorgeous light and nice, natural frame; however, the snow seems to have a magenta tone to it. Perhaps, it is my monitor.  Anyway, a very pretty image.
