The Hoodoos of Bryce Canyon are are a sight to behold. This close up

shows just how Mother Nature craved these out sandstone.

Leo,  my gosh this is a interesting place.  would you be able to give me a idea of the scale we are looking at and also where exactly is this bryce canyon. fantastic image would also like to see a color version if for no other reason then to see what the natural colors are, which i bet if i go to your portfolio i shall find.  first thing tomorrow,  its late down here in new zealand.

Leo,  as i thought i found lots of color images of this area.  and am sure one could spend several lifetimes working here.  had been a long time since i last visited your portfolio,  spent considerable time there this morning.  you are a really fine photographer with lots of unique and original work.  was a pleasure to view!

Thanks very much for your kind words and I do appreciate them. I see that you saw some of the color images so I won't bother posting a color rendition for you. These Hoodoos are about 2 to 3 stories tall. This whole area was a desert and over time solidified to sandstone. Then Mother Nature took over eroding the easy parts away first and leaving the harder layers behind. See my Monument Valley photographs to see an adjacent area with similar characteristics.
